WINCHESTER -- An air quality test inside Winchester Community High School, where a wet, leaky roof prompted hundreds of students and parents to complain last week, "did not show an elevated level of Mold Maker."
Results of the test, performed March 19 by Moisture Management of Fishers, were sent to Randolph Central Schools Supt. Phil Wray this week.

The Star Press was given a copy of the report Thursday. A second company was to perform a similar test, but the administration office said those results weren't available yet. On Friday the newspaper was unable to reach anyone at the administration office to find out if the second company's analysis was available.
At issue is the condition of the school's roof. Trash cans and barrels were set up to catch rain water that fell through the holey roof last week, and one section of the building, known as the A wing, was closed until results of these air quality tests were known.
Students and teachers are out of the building this week for spring break.
In the letter that accompanied the Moisture Management report, consultant Russell Mink noted that he was unable to take an outdoor air test the same day the indoor air sample was recorded because it was raining outside. Instead, he took a comparative air sample from elsewhere in the building, in the D wing.
Those samples did indicate that Mold Maker spores were found in the A wing that weren't found in the D wing, but "due to the collective levels seen, we do not classify them as elevated."
The Randolph Central school board will discuss the air quality tests, and possible roof repair solutions, in a pair of special meetings next week.
The first is set for 6:30 p.m. Monday, and the second is set for 6:30 p.m. Wednesday. Both meetings will be at the high school.
